A. Academic
1. Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students through lectures, small group discussions, practical demonstrations and case studies.
2. Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students performing practical laboratory procedures using various instruments and equipment.
3. Organizes and monitors academic activities of the students under guidance from Principal, Vice Principal and HOD.
4. To conduct formative assessment of students and to provide feedback to them.
5. To assist HOD in implementation of curriculum and conduct of summative assessments.
6. Giving and checking home assignments to students.
7. Check and sign student logbooks.
8. Organize and monitor student research activities.
9. Conduct research and publish at least two research papers in a year in PMDC/HEC approved journals.
10. Collect and maintain records of teaching material e.g. slides, specimen, video clips, published papers etc.
11. Propose amendments in curriculum and its implementation to keep it up-to date in the light of recent developments in the subject.
12. Prepare at least 30 MCQs and 05 OSPEs per year for assessment and provide these to assessment committee.
13. Training & development of demonstrators & support staff. Maintain this record and give it in writing to the HOD for future induction of such doctors at higher posts and testimonials / experience certificates.
14. Participate in various workshops and training programs organized by Department of Medical Education.
B. Management:
15. Takes part in the organization of administration of the department.
16. Inculcates & promotes professional ethical values among junior doctors & students and formally discuss such issues in group discussion / seminars etc.
17. Ensure implementation of the decisions, traditions and values of the college as communicated to him directly and also proactively work for the vision and mission of the institution.
18. Conduct and promote co-curricular and support activities of the students as advised by the college authorities from time to time.
C. Additional Responsibilities
Any duty assigned by the Dean /HOD within the scope of this job.
