Job Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategic security plans aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the university and hospital.
  2. Assess potential security risks and threats and devise proactive measures to mitigate them.
  3. Supervise and lead the security team, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  4. Provide guidance and mentorship to security staff, fostering a culture of professionalism and commitment.
  5. Establish and enforce security policies and procedures to maintain a secure and compliant environment.
  6. Regularly review and update security protocols to adapt to changing threats and technologies.
  7. Oversee the response to security incidents, emergencies, and crises.
  8. Coordinate with law enforcement agencies and other emergency services as needed.
  9. Implement and manage access control systems to regulate entry and exit points.
  10. Monitor and control access to sensitive areas within the university and hospital premises.
  11. Deploy and manage surveillance systems to monitor key areas for security breaches.
  12. Utilize technology for real-time monitoring and incident detection.
  13. Conduct regular security training programs for staff, students, and other stakeholders.
  14. Foster a culture of security awareness and preparedness within the university community.
  15. Conduct periodic security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
  16. Implement corrective actions based on audit findings to enhance overall security.
  17. Collaborate with other departments, including facilities management, HR, and IT, to ensure a holistic approach.
  18. Communicate effectively with university leadership and hospital management on security matters.
  19. Stay abreast of relevant laws and regulations related to security.
  20. Ensure that security operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  21. Develop and manage the security budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources.
  22. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  23. Evaluate and implement security technologies and solutions to enhance overall security.
  24. Stay informed about advancements in security technology and recommend updates as necessary.
  25. Develop and maintain crisis management plans to respond effectively to various types of crises.
  26. Conduct drills and simulations to test the readiness of the security team and other stakeholders.
  27. Engage with the university community to build positive relationships and address security concerns.
  28. Foster a sense of shared responsibility for security among students, faculty, and staff.
  29. Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and actions taken.
  30. Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on security metrics and trends.
