The Surveillance Officer will be responsible for monitoring and managing the CCTV control room operations at the University Campuses/Hospitals. This role involves actively observing surveillance feeds, ensuring the safety and security of the premises, responding to incidents, and collaborating with relevant authorities when necessary. The Surveillance Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure environment for both students and staff at the University and patients, visitors, and staff at the Hospital.
Job Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor multiple CCTV cameras to ensure comprehensive coverage of the University/Hospital premises.
- Detect and assess potential security threats, unauthorized access, or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly to incidents captured on CCTV, taking appropriate actions to address security breaches or emergencies.
- Coordinate with security personnel, law enforcement, or emergency services as needed.
- Keep detailed logs of all activities observed, incidents reported, and actions taken during each shift.
- Compile incident reports with clear and accurate information for review and investigation.
- Communicate effectively with on-site security personnel, campus/hospital authorities, and emergency services to ensure a coordinated response to security situations.
- Provide timely updates to relevant parties during incidents.
- Ensure proper functioning of CCTV equipment and report any technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the technical support team to address and resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs for security personnel regarding CCTV monitoring and incident response protocols.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in surveillance technology and recommend upgrades as necessary.
- Enforce campus/hospital security policies and procedures related to surveillance activities.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
