In this position, the Manager (Finance) coordinates daily operational activities within the finance department, ensuring the smooth execution of financial processes and systems. The role involves preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, conducting comprehensive financial planning and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making. The individual will maintain banking relations, manage revenue and expenditure processes, and oversee ledger accuracy. As a leader, the Manager (Finance) conducts departmental meetings, sets clear annual targets, and fosters a collaborative environment. Coordination with campus management and the Director Finance is essential to align financial strategies and operations, while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory compliance frameworks and risk management practices. Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operational activities of the finance department to ensure efficient financial processes and procedures.
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve existing financial systems and workflows to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Conduct thorough financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities, using scenario planning and financial modeling techniques.
- Oversee revenue and expenditure processing, maintain the general ledger, and verify the accuracy of financial data and transactions.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with established accounting principles and regulatory frameworks.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of 15 finance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and teamwork.
- Organize and conduct regular department meetings to review progress, discuss challenges, and ensure alignment with institutional financial goals.
- Maintain and manage banking relationships and related operations to support the universitys financial requirements.
- Coordinate with campus management and the Director Finance on financial matters to ensure effective communication and strategic alignment.
- Ensure adherence to external regulatory compliance requirements, internal controls, and audit standards.
- Implement and use data analysis tools, risk management software, and ERP systems to support financial decision-making and enterprise risk management.
- Conduct scenario analysis and SWOT assessments to identify financial risks and opportunities, enabling proactive strategic planning.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators using balanced scorecards to track departmental and organizational financial performance.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department by integrating advanced financial technologies and analytical methods.
